Unveiling of the Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise

Grand Soleil Yachts has unveiled the Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise, the new flagship of the Italian shipyard and the first model in its new PLUS range, dedicated exclusively to yachts over 60 feet. Designed for long-distance cruising without compromising Grand Soleil's renowned sailing performance, the 23.99-metre yacht represents a significant step forward for the brand. The first hull is already under construction, with delivery expected within 2026.

Developed entirely in-house by Cantiere del Pardo, the Plus 80 Long Cruise brings together naval architecture by Matteo Polli and exterior and interior design by Nauta Design, the same team behind the successful Grand Soleil Plus 65 and Plus 72. Built using advanced composite construction with epoxy-based vinylester resin and strategically placed carbon reinforcements, the yacht has been engineered to deliver strength, efficiency and long-term durability.

With a fine entry at the bow and fuller aft sections, the hull has been optimised to combine comfortable cruising with responsive sailing characteristics while maximising interior volume. The first unit features twin rudders paired with a telescopic keel offering a variable draft between 2.8 and 4.8 metres, improving both performance under sail and accessibility to shallower cruising grounds. Owners will also have the option of a single-rudder configuration with alternative keel depths.

Designed for extended voyages, the sail plan incorporates a carbon mast and boom, rod rigging and a versatile inventory capable of adapting to a wide range of conditions. All sail controls are led aft, allowing the yacht to be handled with a reduced crew, while the cockpit separates the sailing and guest areas to enhance both safety and onboard comfort. Nauta Design has also introduced integrated seating around the twin helm stations, providing additional comfort during long passages without compromising visibility.

The interior continues Grand Soleil's emphasis on functionality and refined Italian design. A raised saloon surrounded by expansive glazing provides 270-degree views while increasing headroom and allowing technical systems to be relocated beneath the floor, resulting in a more efficient interior layout. The accommodation is available in either a four-guest-cabin or three-guest-cabin configuration, both complemented by two dedicated crew cabins. The forward owner's suite features a walk-around bed, en-suite bathroom and forward-facing views, while guest cabins can be configured as doubles, twins or Pullman berths depending on owner requirements.

Customisation remains central to the Plus 80 Long Cruise, with owners able to select from a wide range of materials, finishes and colour palettes. The first hull will feature warm oak joinery and textile-covered bulkheads, creating a contemporary yet welcoming atmosphere throughout the yacht. Notably, the inaugural yacht will forgo a traditional tender garage, allowing the space to be repurposed for additional technical equipment or storage according to the owner's preferences.

Measuring 23.99 metres in length with a 6.6-metre beam, a displacement of 41 tonnes and a sail area of 365 square metres, the Grand Soleil Plus 80 Long Cruise has been conceived for owners seeking the capability to undertake extended offshore passages while enjoying the comfort, craftsmanship and performance expected of a modern Grand Soleil flagship.
